New head of DFDS Canal Tours

Captain Erik Holsko becomes the new managing director for DFDS Canal Tours, replacing Mogens Krug who is to retire at the end of June.

The DFDS Group has appointed Erik Holsko (58) as the new managing director of DFDS Canal Tours. He replaces Mogens Krug (64) who is retiring after 10 years in the job.

Erik Holsko has particularly extensive experience with DFDS Canal Tours, where he has been employed as a shipping inspector and operational manager since 2001. Having graduated from Marstal Navigationsskole, he is a qualified navigator with experience from the merchant fleet and from DSB Rederi/Scandlines, where he has worked as a navigator, shipping inspector and captain, before joining DFDS Canal Tours.

”Naturally, it is a great advantage that the responsibility for DFDS Canal Tours and the services offered to our many guests will be provided by a person who is very familiar with both the company and our customer group,” says the DFDS Group’s CEO, Niels Smedegaard.

”I would also like to send great thanks to Mogens Krug for his dedicated work over the last 10 years in ensuring DFDS Canal Tours a solid position among Copenhagen’s tourist attractions and providing our guests with many wonderful experiences.”

DFDS Canal Tours operates 16 boats, including two restaurantboats. Every year, 700,000 guests sail around Copenhagen’s port and canals. This places DFDS Canal Tours at number five on the list of the most visited tourist attractions in Denmark.
