DFDS Transport is part of the DFDS Group of Companies.
The DFDS Group has over 7,000 employees and DFDS Transport
employs a staff of 5,000 in 90 offices/terminals in 15
countries throughout Europe.
The transports are carried out by boat, truck, train and
air. Since the entire transport chain is controlled by DFDS
Transport, great safety and service are guaranteed and
quality and environment development are also supported by
this fact.
At DFDS Transport environmental work has high
priority since, after all, our children shall one day take
over and live in the world we leave them. As proof and
acknowledgement of the importance of the environment, the
company now has been certified according to ISO 14001.
DFDS Transport AB, with head office in Malmö, is a
full service company in the transport, forwarding and
logistics sector. Branch offices and terminals are situated
in Göteborg, Jönköping, Västerås, Stockholm, Märsta,
Enköping and Gävle. DFDS Transport does not only carry out
the transports but also owns and controls the entire
process from purchaser to final consignee. This means that
both quality control and environmental development lie in
the hands of DFDS.
Why environmental policy
For many years DFDS Transport has had a
dedicated environmental policy. A part of the business
concept is "work actively to protect and contribute to good
care of the environment by continuously improving transport
services".
"We believe that a good environment is an obligation
we all are responsible for. It is all about the inheritance
we pass on to future generations," says Hans-Åke Pehrsson,
MD for DFDS TRANSPORT AB.
What is ISO 14001
ISO 14001 is an international agreement between
companies, authorities and organizations to ensure an
efficient and structured environmental work. ISO
certification is a guarantee that companies fulfill the
demands of the standards for an environmental management
system.
Only the beginning
DFDS has certified its operations regarding national
and international transport systems, warehousing, terminals
and logistics.
"We are well on the road to an improved environment
but far from ready. The certificate was only the beginning,
now we move on. After all, its all about our own
environment," concludes Hans-Åke Pehrsson.
