The acquisition will be partially financed through a
share issue in DFDS A/S later.
DanTransport Holding A/S is one of the leading
Scandinavian transport and forwarding groups and includes
DanTransport A/S, Inter Forward in Stockholm AB,
Tollpost-Globe Holding AS, BDN Cargo Transport Oy,
DanTransport International Corporation, DanTransport (UK)
Ltd. and Inter Forward France S.A.
The plan is to include the present transport and
forwarding activities of DFDS to DanTransport Holding A/S,
thus creating a tranport and forwarding company with a
turnover of DKK 15 bn and 9,000 employees.
Together the companies will be a major, powerful
transport and forwarding provider - the second largest in
Scandinavia - with the requisite strength and position on
the market. The new company will be extremely
well-positioned in the restructuring now in process within
the European transport industry.
DanTransport Rejsebureau A/S and Canal Tours Copenhagen
A/S are also included in the transaction. They will
continue as independent companies in the DFDS Group.
DFDS Transport's shipping activities will not be part
of the transport and forwarding company, but will continue
as an independent division in the DFDS Group.
The takeover will be effective on approval by the EU
authorities.
