A small fire broke out at 9.53 p.m. last night onboard
the QUEEN OF SCANDINAVIA en route from Oslo to
Copenhagen. The automatic fire alarm went on
instantly, and two minutes later a crew member began to put
out the fire with a powder extinguisher. At 10.05
p.m. - ten minutes later - the fire was completely put
out.
The fire broke out in a linen room where a cloth with
linseed oil had ignited spontaneously.
As a matter of safety and in compliance with the safety
rules of DFDS the passengers around the linen room were
moved from their cabins. At 10.20 p.m. the whole fire
drill was called off.
M.s. QUEEN OF SCANDINAVIA departs at 5.00 p.m.
today to Oslo according to schedule.
DFDS has demonstrated that the emergency precautions
answer the purpose.
Yours sincerely,
DFDS Seaways A/S
