The DFDS Dan Tranport Group A/S (Brøndby/Copenhagen) and
Scandinavian Garment Service A/S (SGS) (Odense) have
established the company Garment Logistics UAB in Lithuania,
each with an owner share of 50%.
Garment Logistics UAB will serve the textile and garment
sector from a modern terminal in Lithuania’s capital,
Vilnius.
The terminal is specially equipped with a conveyor
system for clothing on hangers, and other equipment for
preparing clothing for sale in retail shops, primarily in
Western Europe. Garment Logistics UAB also offers warehouse
service, and, via DFDS and SGS, distribution and transport
across country borders in specially equipped trucks.
As a result of the globalization of production, the
textile and fashion market in the Baltic countries, Russia,
Belorussia, and Ukraine is undergoing strong growth. DFDS
Dan Transport and SGS are already established in these
countries, and with the creation of Garment Logistics UAB
the companies have strengthened their good position on this
growth market.
