The three new buildings replaced four older ro/ro
vessels, and the frequency was increased to once daily in
either direction. The capacity was therefore increased by
some 35%, the same as departure and arrival times were
adjusted to the market demands.
The Stena Tor Line service Harwich-Gothenburg offers an
important supplement to AngloBridge. The frequency has now
been increased to three departures per week in either
direction, to which comes a possibility of an extra
way-call in Immingham every Thursday in either direction.
This at the same time increases capacity and service on
AngloBridge.
"The volume development is positive", says Ole Frie,
Managing Director of DFDS Tor Line A/S. "If this trend
continues, we shall have to re-evaluate our decision and
possibly deploy the three new buildings from Flensburg for
delivery in 2003 to AngloBridge to meet demands." The new
buildings with 4,000 lane metres will be the largest ro/ro
vessels in the North European short-sea trade. Ole Frie
adds that with a total of 10 departures per week in either
direction the market is curently satisfactorily
covered.
Yours faithfully,
DFDS Tor Line A/S
