DFDS Group Report for 3rd Quarter 2001 (SEA)
The operating profit (EBITA) for the third quarter increased to DKK 223 million, which is 46% higher than for the same period last year.
The operating profit (EBITA) for the first nine months increased to DKK 307 million, which is 76% higher than for the same period last year. After adjustment for non-recurring items, the operating profit (EBITA) increased by 59% to DKK 183 million for the same period.
LISCO’s financial performance was better than forecast at the end of the half year.
After further restructuring of NorBridge in the third quarter, a positive operating profit (EBITA) is expected in 2002.
In November, DFDS Tor Line contracted for a fourth ro-ro newbuilding. A decision has been made to increase capacity by 40% on the Anglo-Bridge routes, which connect Gothenburg, Sweden, and Immingham, England. The first three newbuildings contracted for at Flensborg shipyard will be entered into service on AngloBridge to achieve this capacity increase.
A profit before tax of approx. DKK 295 million for the full year 2001 is expected, including profits from the sale of domicile and ships.
