Effective as of 1 January 2003, DFDS Tor Line AS in
Norway has entered into an agreement with KST Holding AS
concerning the 100% acquisition of the share capital in KT
Shipping AS, which business areas include agency
activities, shipping logistics and terminal operation. The
parties have agreed not to disclose the selling price.
The acquisition takes place in order to strengthen DFDS
Tor Line’s agency activities in Norway and to streamline
the terminal- and depot operation in Oslo, Brevik and
Kristiansand, says Ole Frie, Presiding Director of DFDS
A/S. Furthermore, the acquisition will strengthen DFDS Tor
Line’s geographic market coverage in Norway and create the
opportunity to further extend the clientele in the southern
part of Norway.
The takeover is a natural continuation of the many
years’ co-operation, where KST Shipping has acted as agent
for DFDS Tor Line’s routes to the UK and the Continent.
