The company operates a ro-pax service between Riga and
Lübeck with two weekly departures. A chartered ro-pax
vessel is employed on the service.
Latlines has about 20 employees, including the
subsidiary company Latlines Deutschland GmbH of Lübeck.
DFDS Tor Line A/S already operates a ro-pax service with
two weekly departures between Riga and Kiel.
The acquisition of Latlines permits the sailing schedule
to be adjusted with four weekly ro-pax departures in each
direction and to co-ordinate the agency and terminal
activities in Riga. The plan is to gather all four German
calls in either Lübeck or Kiel at a later date, and a
decision accordingly is expected to be made early 2003.
The takeover of Latlines is part of DFDS’ focus on
expansion in the southern part of the Baltic, where, until
now, DFDS has only been strongly represented in
Lithuania.
Yours sincerely,
DFDS A/S
