DFDS has sold the Passenger Vessel m.s. ADMIRAL OF SCANDINAVIA (SEA)

M.s. ADMIRAL OF SCANDINAVIA, built in 1976, was taken over by DFDS Seaways in 1987, and has been deployed on the Hamburg-Harwich service until March this year, at which time she was shifted to the service between Cuxhaven and Harwich, which commenced 2 March 2002.

The sale is part of DFDS’ previously announced tonnage renewal strategy. Replacement tonnage will be provided either by redeploying vessels in the DFDS Seaways’ fleet or chartering a suitable vessel.  The process of exploring the possibilities of chartering suitable tonnage has been commenced and will comprise cruise ferries as well as ro-pax vessels.

The sale of m.s. ADMIRAL OF SCANDINAVIA will have a negative impact on DFDS’ expected result for 2002 in the order of DKK 12 million.

Yours sincerely,
DFDS A/S

Ole Frie
Presiding Director
