M.s. TOR FLANDRIA and m.s. TOR SCANDIA have been sold to
Norwegian interests with delivery scheduled for December
this year. The parties have agreed not to disclose the
purchase price.
DFDS Tor Line has Bare Boat chartered both vessels from
the purchaser for a period of five and a half years. Both
vessels will remain under Swedish flag and continue to be
in service on the route between Gothenburg, Sweden, and
Ghent, Belgium. Both vessels were built in 1981.
In accordance with the company’s tonnage strategy laid
down in the beginning of 2001, DFDS Tor Line has sold
totally six ro-ro freight vessels during the years
2001/2002, partly as direct sales, partly on a charter-back
basis.
