At a ceremony today at 11.30 a.m., the Chairman of DFDS’
Board, Ivar Samrén together with Managing Director of
Sjælsø Gruppen, Ib Henrik Rønje, lay the foundation stone
to DFDS’ new headquarters situated at Sundkrogsgade 11 in
the habour called "Kalkbrænderihavnen". In his speech, DFDS’ Presiding Director Ole Frie
expressed his hope that the new headquarters, which from
August 2003 will be the workplace for approx. 250 people,
will set the frames for the company as long as it has been
the case at Sankt Annæ Plads 30, where DFDS has housed
since 1872. Together with the foundation stone, various items such
as today’s newspaper, DFDS’ annual report, drawings of the
building, coins and a DFDS house flag were burried in
memory for the future. Besides the entrepreneur, Sjælsø Gruppen, the architect
consultants Signal Architects and the consultants and
planners Birch & Krogboe have been involved in the
building, designed by the architects Dissing &
Weitling.
