This morning, the management of DFDS A/S has estimated
the consequences for the service
Göteborg-Kristiansand-Newcastle. It was agreed that it will
be irrelevant to charter tonnage as it will not be possible
to find a ship, which, as regards quality and speed, can
replace the PRINCESS OF SCANDINAVIA satisfactorily. To
relocate other DFDS passenger ships, so that the route
could be run by replacement tonnage during the repair
period, does not seem reasonable.
On the basis of the current information about the
damages of the ship, it has been decided, that the route
should be put into service again on 16 June with departure
at 10.00 a.m. from Gothenburg.
Those passengers who have booked cruises during this
period of time will be contacted by our sales offices with
a view to find satisfactory solutions.
Yours faithfully,
DFDS Seaways A/S
