Swedish Fundia Special Bar AB (a subsidiary of Finnish
Rautaruukki group) and DFDS Tor Line have signed a
contract comprising some 50,000 tonnes of steel yearly from
Sweden to Great Britain for shipment on DFDS Tor Line's
AngloBridge ro/ro service Gothenburg/Immingham.
The contract came into force 1 October 2003 and is
running till the end of December 2006 with option for
further extension.
Test shipments in 2003 clearly showed that the high
frequency shipping service improved reliability and reduced
both lead time and costs.
The handling and distribution to end users take place
via DFDS Tor Line's own Nordic Terminal in Immingham.
