The merger will be carried through as a tax-exempt
merger effective as of 1 January 2003.
The aim of the merger is to simplify the structure of
the group, thus achieving a better utilization of its
resources.
After the merger DFDS will still consist of two
divisions, DFDS Seaways, operating passenger liner
shipping, and DFDS Tor Line, operating freight liner
shipping.
The merger is expected to have no impact on the result
for 2003.
