New DFDS Terminal opens in Copenhagen
Princess Alexandra today inaugurated the new DFDS Terminal built by Port of Copenhagen A/S. The Minister of Transport, Flemming Hansen, and the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, Jens Kramer Mikkelsen, attended the ceremony. The new terminal provides improved facilities, especially for the more than 800,000 passengers who travel to and from Norway each year. See the videos

DFDS prolongs transport contract with Saab Automobile
DFDS' freight division, DFDS Tor Line, and Saab Automobile have signed a new three-year contract. The contract covers the transportation of approximately 35,000 cars per annum from Gothenburg in Sweden to Immingham, UK, and Ghent, Belgium, respectively. From here the cars are distributed to various European markets.

BMW Group and DFDS have agreed terms whereby DFDS from beginning 2004 will transport an annual volume of approx. 80,000 cars from Cuxhaven in Germany to Immingham in the UK, based on a high frequency ro-ro shipping concept.

DFDS sells four freight vessels
Today the shipping company DFDS Lys-Line Rederi AS, of which DFDS A/S owns 66%, has sold four freight vessels. The buyer is the Norwegian company Ross Liner KS. It has been agreed between the par-ties that the purchase sum will remain confidential.

AB Lisco Baltic Service, the DFDS A/S controlled Lithuanian shipping company, has sold the two small Ro/Ro vessels the PANEVEZYS and the SIAULIAI to Dutch interests. The parties have agreed not to disclose the price.

Stora Enso Transport and Distribution and DFDS enter into major North Sea shipping contract
Stora Enso Transport and Distribution and DFDS A/S have signed "Heads of Agreement" for North Sea transportation of paper products. The agreement covers sea freight of an initial 700,000 tonnes p.a. by DFDS Tor Line from Gothenburg to Tilbury and Immingham in England for a period of ten years.
