AB Lisco Baltic Service, the DFDS A/S controlled
Lithuanian shipping company, has sold the two small Ro/Ro
vessels the PANEVEZYS and the SIAULIAI to Dutch interests.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the price.
The vessels, which are sister ships, were built in 1985,
and has a freight capacity of 4,250 tonnes each. The
SIAULAI was delivered in Antwerp on 14 January, and the
PANEVEZYS is to be delivered in the Mediterranean in March,
when the present time-charter expires.
The sale is part of the DFDS tonnage strategy. Since
January 2001, a total of 14 freight vessels have been sold,
partly through outright sales and partly by way of
charter-back for various periods.
