After the sale of the passenger vessel PRINCE OF
SCANDINAVIA DFDS announced on 24 October 2003 that the
service to Poland would be closed temporarily as of late
November 2003.
In the last three months DFDS has investigated the
market through brokers for physically and financially
suitable replacement tonnage. Unfortunately, DFDS has to
realize that for the time being no such tonnage is
available for this service.
Consequently, out of consideration for DFDS’ customers,
business relations, DFDS’ own organization, and the
marketing effort for this summer it has been decided
already now to communicate to the market the closure of the
service Copenhagen/Trelleborg-Gdansk.
