DFDS buys ro-pax ship

The Lithuanian shipping company AB Lisco Baltic Service, in which DFDS has a stake of approximately 90%, has purchased the ro-pax vessel STENA TRAVELLER from Stena Rederi AB. The parties have agreed not to disclose the price.

The STENA TRAVELLER was built in 1992, has a freight capacity of 1,800 lane metres, room for 250 pas-sengers in 83 cabins and a service speed of 18 knots.

Lisco takes delivery of the STENA TRAVELLER today. She will replace chartered tonnage on the Karl-shamn/Kleipeda service mid-May and will sail under Lithuanian flag.

Ro-pax tonnage dominates the market in the Baltic Sea and this purchase is part of DFDS' fleet renewal strategy.  On delivery the ship will change her name to LISCO PATRIA.
