On 3rd May 2004 DFDS' 3rd newbuilding, TOR PRIMULA, was
delivered to DFDS by Flensburt shipyard. On the same day
she sailed to Copenhagen where she, as the only vessel from
the flower series, will visit Copenhagen.
TOR PRIMULA docked at the new DFDS Terminal at
Dampfærgevej, which from the beginning of September 2004
replaces the berth at Sankt Annæ Plads, which DFDS have
been using for more than 30 years.
TOR PRIMULA came to Copenhagen en route to her maiden
voyage, which starts from Gothenburg on 6th May 2004. The
vessel will be operating on the AngloBridge service between
Gothenburg and Imminjgham where she, together with her two
sister ships TOR MAGNOLIA and TOR PETUNIA, will be sailing
under Danish flag.
Number 4 in the flower series will be named in Flensburg
on the day of the Danish Royal Wedding, 14th May 2004, and
delivery is expected early September 2004.
DFDS' collective investment for the six ro-ro vessels
ordered from Flensburg shipyard is DKK 2 billion. This
makes it one of the largest ro-ro orders in Northern
Europe, and the vessels will be the largest on the North
Sea. DFDS is presently negotiatingan option for vessel No.
7.
