DFDS now sole owner of Norwegian Lys-Line
DFDS A/S signed an agreement with the family-owned company Simonsen Holding on 9 December 2005 to buy out the remaining 34% of the shares in the Norwegian companies Lys-Line AS and DFDS Lys-Line Rederi AS. DFDS A/S now owns 100% of the share capital in both companies.

DFDS buys new, large passenger vessel
DFDS has purchased the passenger vessel VAL DE LOIRE from the French shipping company Brittany Ferries. Following refurbishments, the ship will be placed in service on the DFDS Amsterdam-Newcastle route in March 2006, and its name will be changed to KING OF SCANDINAVIA.

DFDS A/S has acquired 66 percent of the trailer forwarding company Halléns N.V., Ghent in Belgium. The deal becomes effective subsequent to certain competition authorities’ approval.

DFDS in alliance with SOVCOMFLOT
Earlier this year, DFDS signed Heads of Agreement with Rosmorport and the Russian Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport to operate a rail ferry service between the Russian ports of Ust Luga and Baltiysk (Kaliningrad) and the German port of Sassnitz/Mukran.

New, tougher control rules on board DFDS ships
In continuation of a meeting with representatives of the Danish Association of Maritime Catering Establishments (DSRF), Danish Navigators and the Danish Catering Workers' Union (RBF), the management of DFDS has decided to introduce new tough restrictions and controls.

DFDS’ Lithuanian subsidiary, Lisco Baltic Service, has sold two multipurpose / container ships, viz. m.s. JOGAILA built 1992 and m.s. KESTUTIS built 1993. They have been sold to Finland and Korea, respectively.

DFDS Tor Line Commences New Service To Tilbury (London)
From the beginning of July 2005, DFDS Tor Line will commence a new Ro/Ro and container service, AngloBridge South, between Tilbury near London to Gothenburg.

DKK 100 million modernisation for Oslo ferries
DFDS Seaways is investing approximately DKK 100 million in comprehensive renovations for the two ships that ply the Copenhagen-Oslo route. The conversions will be completed by the beginning of February, and will include entirely new restaurant concepts and a major face-lift for both the common areas and cabins.
