DFDS LISCO has sold the freight vessel TOR NERINGA to Latvian interests as of 4 December 2006. The parties have agreed to keep the sales price confidential.
The TOR NERINGA, built and refurbished in 1975/1980, has been owned by the DFDS Group since 1999, and is currently on long-term charter from DFDS LISCO. After the sale, DFDS Tor Line will charter the ship back for a period of three years.
The sale is an element in the strategy laid down by DFDS in 2001 to reduce the average age of the vessels in its freight fleet to approximately ten years.
