| In an expansion of their long partnership, DFDS Tor Line and Volvo Logistics have signed a new car transportation contract.
The contract covers the transportation of cars made by Volvo and Renault from Ghent in Belgium, via Immingham in the UK, to Esbjerg, from where the cars are distributed in Denmark. "The new concept of distribution to the Danish market from Belgium will secure Volvo Logistics a steady and swift high-precision flow. An important prerequisite for this is DFDS Tor Line's BritanniaBridge service, which has frequent departures between Immingham and Esbjerg," said Kennet Hansson, Contracting Manager for Volvo Logistics, Gothenburg. "Volvo will gain an increased frequency, with daily departures from Immingham to Esbjerg, while for DFDS the contract will mean effective utilisation of its capacity on ships sailing between the UK and Denmark," said Ole Frie, Presiding Director of DFDS A/S.
