DFDS and Volvo Logistics extend their partnership

The many years of partnership between DFDS Tor Line and Volvo Logistics is continuing; now the parties have signed a new transport agreement valid from 2007-01-01 to 2009-12-31 and with an option for extension to 2011-12-31. The contract encompasses the transport of private cars, trucks, buses and components to the European continent and the UK.

The new agreement is expected to mean increased levels of transported freight, both in finished products and components. All transport will occur by DFDS Tor Line: to the continent via EuroBridge between Gothenburg, Sweden and Ghent in Belgium, and to the UK via AngloBridge between Gothenburg and Immingham or Tilbury, UK. An important consideration for Volvo Logistics has been the high service frequency that DFDS Tor Line can offer, together with its frequent departures, large capacity and good access conditions.

"The investments by DFDS Tor Line in new tonnage and good traffic access are of great importance to the ability of Volvo to supply the factories with components and finished products to the markets," said Kjell-Åke Hvittfeldt, vice president of Volvo Logistics.

"The new, extended contract of Volvo Logistics with DFDS Tor Line confirms that the Group's investment strategy continues to be of great importance to the industry, and that our focus on frequency, precision and continuity creates an attractive logistics solution," said Bjørn Petrusson, managing director of DFDS Tor Line AB, Gothenburg.
