By booking your ferry tickets online, you'll avoid booking fees. You'll also be able to check the total amount of your booking and compare the prices for different dates as fares may vary. You can buy tickets online even on the day of departure at least 7 hours before the ferry leaves.

You can buy tickets for all DFDS routes and pay by credit card or via electronic banking system no later than 1 day before the departure date.

Ferry tickets for children

One adult passenger can take one 0-3 years-old child for free.

When you travel with children (0-15 years-old), a 20% discount for your cabin will be applied to the ticket. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed to travel on DFDS ferries without parents, guardian or an authorised accompanying adult.

When a baby or child is entered in the reservation system, a "family" discount will automatically be applied for the cabin.

The "family" discount applies to all cabins, but the number of beds cannot exceed the number of traveling adults.

If you're traveling with children in the lounge area, the discount is not available and babies will need to buy a separate seat.

How to book ferry tickets when travelling with a pet

Pets on DFDS ferries can be transported in special cabins or left in the car during the journey. The animal cannot be transported in the lounge area. If you are traveling without a car, when booking a ticket online, select a cabin for passengers with pets and contact the DFDS Call Centre on +370 46 323232 to book a ticket for a pet. The cost of transporting a pet is fixed at €40.

Passengers with pets must book the entire cabin and pets must be kept off the beds and kept on a leash with a muzzle.

Animals must be transported in accordance with the requirements of the State Food and Veterinary Service of the Republic of Lithuania (SFVS). For more information, visit the SFVS page.

When traveling with a pet to Sweden or Norway, please note the following three essential requirements:

  1. The animal must have a clearly visible tattoo or microchip. Animals who were born after July 3, 2011 must have a microchip.
  2. The animal must have been vaccinated against rabies after a tattoo has been made or a microchip has been inserted (animals can be vaccinated no younger than 3 months old).
  3. The animal can travel when at least 21 days have passed after the rabies vaccination (expire date of rabies vaccination is indicated by the veterinarian who performed the vaccination). More info

Want to find the cheapest tickets online?

Follow these 6 steps to find cheaper ferry tickets and save:

  1. Buy online
By booking online you’ll avoid €15 fee which is applied when booking via the phone or at DFDS ticket offices. When booking online you’ll be able to compare prices with other dates and select the better option.
  2. Special offers
Keep an eye out for DFDS special offers and save up to 50%.
  3. Plan your travel day carefully
Travel on Thursdays from Klaipeda, on Monday from Kiel or on Sunday from Karlshamn and you’ll pay less for your car (up to 4.5m length) or camper van. Please note that tickets are limited and the discount is not valid during summer season and Christmas/Easter periods.
  4. Travel during cold season
Quieter periods often mean prices are lower and you’ll have a larger selection of cheaper cabins.
  5. Book in advance
Prices vary depending on availability. The less places available, the more expensive it can get. Tickets are cheapest when booking more than 1.5 months in advance. You can also change or cancel your trip for free up to 21 days before departure.
  6. Travel with children
Families travelling with children up to 15 years old get 20% family discount for cabins. Children aged 0-3, who do not require separate bed, travel for free.
