We work with news crews, television production companies and students to facilitate filming on our routes.
We do not charge a fee for news and documentaries when the story is about the ferry industry or our services and provided your production crew is fewer than five people. A fee will apply for all other filming, including commercial productions, educational films and student films.
We will not permit filming on board our ships for the following:
Please complete and submit an application form to Dover.PR@dfds.com at least ten working days in advance of your proposed date of travel.
Every day we carry passengers and cargo across the Baltic Sea, including routes from Lithuania to Sweden (Klaipeda - Karlshamn), Sweden to Estonia (Kapelskar - Paldiski) and the route connecting Lithuania with North Germany (Klaipeda - Kiel). The Scandinavian route through the Kattegat from Copenhagen to Oslo connects Denmark with Norway.
Any film shoot involving the port must be approved by the appropriate port authority and subject to the requirements of port security and security services. All filming requests must be submitted at least ten working days before the desired filming date.
Every day, DFDS ships sail on routes that serve customers - for this reason, we can't break or change the schedule of the ship to accommodate the filming.
