What is MGO BAF?

The MGO BAF, or Marine Gas Oil Bunker Adjustment Factor, compensates for fluctuations in the price of a ship's fuel.

If the price rises above a certain level, a surcharge will be applied. If the price drops below a certain level, a reduction in the surcharge will be applied.

Abnormal loads

For units exceeding 2.6 metres in width, the following surcharges shall apply:

2.61-3.00 m basic rate +25%,

3.01-3.50 m basic rate +50%,

3.51-4.00 m basic rate +75%,

4.10-4.51 m basic rate +100%,

From 4.51 m on request

Shipment of units exceeding 40 tonnes of weight, the basic rate is +20%
