Electric trucks are on the move

Decarbonisation has never looked or sounded this good
Operating in a variety of supply chains
Our electric trucks move containers, customised trailers, and long combination vehicles. From ports to warehouses and urban areas, they reliably operate in a wide range of supply chains including food, electronics, finished vehicles, and industrial steel.
The right charging strategy makes all the difference
We aim to have at least 25% of our fleet battery electric by 2030. Reliable access to charging in the right locations, and at the right price, is at the core of our strategy. We work closely with our customers and infrastructure partners to develop charging solutions that support scalable and cost-effective electric truck operations. With our own charging solutions in multiple locations, including areas as remote as the Shetland Islands, these investments directly support the expansion of electric heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).
World of Volvo
Here’s an electric truck delivering new Volvo cars with a specialised, narrow trailer. In 2024, our electric trucks saved 4,245 tonnes of CO₂ emissions in our and our customers’ supply chains. This single truck accounted for 31 tonnes of that total.
Learning on the Italian job with Hydro and Volvo Trucks
Turning decarbonisation ambition into action requires real-world testing. In 2025, we worked with Hydro and Volvo Trucks to transport design furniture 750km from Eindhoven in the Netherlands to Milan Design Week. It's partnerships like that this drive continuous learning and progress.
Loaded with experience
Our experience of launching electric trucks in eight markets taught us how to overcome a range of challenges. And partnerships are key. When we introduced our first electric trucks in the UK, we brought together industry stakeholders at our event “Partnership is Leadership”. It is through open and honest discussion between expert partners that we co-create solutions.
