Cities in Germany

In the Lonely Planet poll, Germany not only hit the top ten countries worth visiting in 2019, but can even be proud of being second in it! This country is fascinating in all seasons. Cozy old towns, spectacular metropolises, tranquil nature and top-class cultural life - all these elements magically fit together and create a special German atmosphere. We invite you to familiarize yourself with different German cities and choose your favorite!

Bremen

Bremen

Walking in Bremen's Old Town feels like being in a medieval fairy tale. Cozy squares and cafes, lovely, not too pretentious, architecture, and various details telling the stories of the city, create a unique atmosphere of this city. By the way, when visiting Bremen you won't get away from the most important inhabitants of this city - the four Bremen musicians dedicated not only to sculptures, but also souvenirs, swings and even a singing well!

Schwerin

Schwerin

Schwerin is often referred to as one of the most cozy cities in northern Germany. Located between seven lakes, this city can be proud of its well-preserved, almost untouched, historic Old Town, which, together with the nature, creates a special sense of tranquility. In the stunning streets you can meet the intriguing street traders. And the biggest adornment of the city is the spectacular Renaissance Castle in one of the island's islands, with a rich collection of art works.

Cologne

Cologne

The modern and romantic city welcomes guests with the massive bridge covered in thousands of colored locks. The marvelous cathedral, big squares and posh facades create the impression of a magnificent metropolis. But getting away from touristic routes, Cologne reveals its true face, which is much more relaxed, friendly and even a little crazy. Visit the local brewery, swear the love by leaving the lock on the Hohenzollern Bridge, admire the works of street artists and enjoy the walks in the Old Town!

Hannover

Hannover

The city of ideas and innovation, Hannover, is waiting for everyone who wants to avoid huge tourist flows and long queues at the museums, which here you can visit every Friday for free! Walking in the medieval old town of Hannover, you can feel not only German, but also British traces of culture, while the red brick gothic church and the old town hall will surprise everyone. So if you want to get to know the authentic German culture, go to Hannover and enjoy this cozy city until the crowds of tourists have found it!

Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg is one of the few cities in Germany with no old history. Founded only in 20a. in order to accommodate workers from Volkswagen company and factories, the city formed its face by inviting famous world architects such as Zaha Hadid and Alvaro Alto to implement their projects here. All car enthusiasts should visit the Autostadt Motor Museum, where they will be able to see the latest models of Volkwagen, Audi, Porche and Lamborghini. The spectacular Phaen Science and Physics Center will surprise even the greatest fans of science, and at the Wolfburg Planetarium you will be able to see astronomical performances!

Duesseldorf

Dusseldorf

Once a small village near Dussel, now Düsseldorf can be proudly and reasonably called the capital of German fashion and culture. One of the richest cities in the country hosts world's largest commercial exhibitions and fascinates tourists by sophisticated modern architecture buildings and the most famous designer shops. But away from the pretentious shop windows there is the Old Town (Altstadt) famous for its bars. Here you can feel the true spirit of the city and you will see that under the expensive suits of local residents, lies the sincere and very friendly people!
