Disabled Access Onboard our Ships
At DFDS, we are inclusive and like to welcome everyone onboard, ensuring each and every passenger has a pleasant and enjoyable stay.
To ensure all your needs are met, we advise you to let us know at the time of booking if you have any disabilities. If we know in advance, we can ensure your journey is as smooth as possible and can arrange any assistance if required including arranging an accessible cabin and arranging for your vehicle to be parked closer to the lift.
Two ships run on our Newcastle – Amsterdam route: King Seaways and Princess Seaways.
All public areas including the bars, shop and restaurants are accessible for wheelchair users and guide dogs. However, the Sky Bar is only accessible via an external staircase.
If you have a wheelchair that you don’t need to use all the time, we have storage onboard that you can use.
If you require any further assistance whilst onboard, our Guest Service Centre is open 24/7 and will be happy to help. Our Guest Service Centre can be found on deck 7 on King Seaways and deck 6 on Princess Seaways.

King Seaways
Accessible Cabins:
Four outside cabins and two inside cabins - entrance door width 90 cm
Lifts:
Suitable for regular sized wheelchairs Two lifts from deck 6 to 7, measuring 108 cm x 144 cm - entrance door width 87 cm Two twin lifts measuring 107 cm x 143 cm - entrance door width 90 cm
Accessible Toilet Facilities:
Wheelchair-accessible public toilet on deck 9- entrance door width 100 cm
Restricted Areas:
Deck 5 has no lift access. Access to open decks for wheelchairs is on deck 10. Sky bar on deck 12 is only accessible by outside staircase.

Princess Seaways
Accessible Cabins:
Two outside cabins and two inside cabins - entrance door width 88c
Lifts:
Suitable for regular sized wheelchairs Two lifts from deck 5 to 6, measuring 108 cm x 144 cm - entrance door width 87 cm Two twin lifts measuring 107 cm x 143 cm - entrance door width 85 cm
Accessible Toilet Facilities:
In wheelchair accessible cabins only
Restricted Areas:
Deck 4 has no lift access

We have six ships running on our Dover – Calais & Dunkirk routes. All public areas including the bars, shop and restaurants are accessible for wheelchair users and guide dogs.

Calais Seaways

One passenger lift measuring 190cm x 220cm. Entrance door width 120cm Parking available close to lift
Accessible Toilet Facilities:
One wheelchair-accessible public toilet, deck 7. Bathroom equipped with shower, wash basin, WC & hand rails.
Dover Seaways/Delft Seaways/Dunkerque Seaways
Lifts:
Three passenger lifts measuring 100cm x 138cm . Entrance door width 90cm. Parking available close to lift
Accessible Toilet Facilities:
Two wheelchair-accessible public toilets: decks 6 and 7.
We have two ships operating on the Newhaven – Dieppe route, Côte d'Albâtre and Seven Sisters. These are branded as Transmanche Ferries but we can assure you that you will receive the excellent DFDS service you are used to.
Both ships are accessible for wheelchair users and we encourage you to tell us at the point of booking if you have any specific needs so we can make your crossing as smooth as possible.

Cote D’Albatre/Seven Sisters

Two-berth accessible cabin with telephone/alarm: berths at ground level. Cabin door width 90cm

We have two ships running on our Copenhagen – Oslo route, Pearl Seaways and Crown Seaways. Both ships are accessible for passengers with reduced mobility.

Liverpool Seaways
Lifts:
Suitable for regular sized, manual wheelchairs. Two lifts. Dimensions: 130 cm x 148 cm, width of doors 78 cm. Attention - high threshold before entering the elevator from the fourth deck
Accessible Toilet Facilities: Available on deck 5
Accessible Cabins:
Two accessible cabins available Special ramps are located near the doors for easier accessibility Assistance available for disabled passengers boarding and disembarking
We run two ships on our route between Klaipeda in Lithuania and Kiel in Germany.
Both Athena Seaways and Victoria Seaways are accessible for passengers with reduced mobility. See below for an overview of our facilities:

Our ship, Optima Seaways sails each day between Kapellskär in Sweden to Paldiski in Estonia and is accessible for passengers with reduced mobility. See below for an overview of our facilities:
Lifts: Suitable for regular sized, manual wheelchairs. Dimensions: 119 cm x 113 cm, door width: 75 cm. Attention - high threshold before entering the elevator from the third and fourth decks
Accessible Toilet Facilities: Available on deck 5
Accessible Cabins: Two accessible cabins available, on deck 5. If you park on deck 5, you will not need to get the lift to your cabin. The width of the fifth deck entrance door is 75 cm;
