INCIDENT ON BOARD THE DOVER SEAWAY FERRY

DOVER SEAWAYS contacted the harbour wall when leaving Dover, passengers have been accommodated on the other DFDS ferries

DFDS Seaways can confirm there has been an incident this morning on board the DOVER SEAWAYS ferry when it left Dover on the 08:00am sailing to Dunkirk, when it made contact with the harbour wall.

Unfortunately, some passengers and crew were treated for minor injuries, including four people who have been taken to hospital for additional checks. Their injuries are not believed to be of a series nature. All 320 passengers and freight have now disembarked the vessel and those who chose to continue their journey have been accommodated on other DFDS Seaways ferries. The DOVER SEAWAYS ferry is currently being assessed for repairs.

We would like to apologise to all passengers and freight customers who have been affected by this incident and underline that passenger safety is of paramount importance to us at DFDS Seaways. We would also like to praise the actions of our highly trained crew and all the relevant port and emergency services who worked effectively to contain the incident as safely and quickly as possible.
