New warehouse in Wijchen

Expanding part-load business with a new warehouse in November 2021.

Huisman DFDS in Wijchen

In December 2019, DFDS welcomed Dutch part-load operator Huisman Group. Since then, DFDS' experience, organisation and skills within part-load has grown considerably. Now it is time to expand facilities. To ensure that DFDS can keep up with demand and build an even stronger business, a brand-new 12,000 sqm warehouse in Wijchen, the Netherlands, will stand ready in November 2021.

In addition to the existing warehouse in Wijchen, the new modern warehouse will double the pallet spaces from 20.000 to 40.000 collectively, create more office space, and increase docking doors to 34 that will significantly improve our cross-docking facility. The warehouse will increase safety, it also has high energy efficiency, and comprehensive security measures to allow storage of high valuable goods.

John Scholten, Managing Director, DFDS Partloads says: “More customers are, on the back of Brexit, starting to become aware of the benefits of using DFDS’ warehouse in Wijchen. The new warehouse will be able to accommodate this increasing demand. When the warehouse is complete, we can offer customers even better warehousing solutions, while taking care of all logistics and transports in close collaboration with Ferry Division utilising the strong infrastructure in DFDS. I am certain that this will contribute to meet the growth ambitions of DFDS’ Win23 strategy”.
