When Pearl Seaways honks its horn on the way out of Copenhagen, Captain Johnny Andreasen may be tempted to give an extra-long blast.
It’s the first time in months that Pearl and Crown head north with passengers on board. Pearl sails today followed by Crown tomorrow.
Both go to Oslo with a stop in Frederikshavn, resuming the daily service that Covid travel restrictions stopped on the 8 January.
"I have been very much looking forward to the fact that we are now again heading towards Oslo and getting parts of our passenger business going. Especially on behalf of my many colleagues, I am happy that they again can have a more normal everyday life and can welcome our many guests on board,” says Torben Carlsen, CEO of DFDS.
"Today is a day of celebration. It is almost a symbol of the reopening that the Oslo ferries can now finally sail again. It has been unbearable to see the ferries lying still all these months when the borders have been closed. Now I hope that our ferries and passenger ships can have a good summer and catch up on some of the neglected spring,” says Anne H. Steffensen, CEO of Danish Shipping.
