RUSSIA / UKRAINE UPDATE

At DFDS, we are deeply saddened by the tragic and devastating war in Ukraine. Our thoughts are with all those directly and indirectly affected.

Like many other businesses, we have been closely monitoring the very concerning and ever-evolving situation in order to safeguard the health and safety of our employees and continuity of service to our customers.

Supporting our people

Our number one priority is securing the safety of our people and we have put in place individual plans to ensure that all affected employees and their families get the support they need. This includes, among other things, the following activities:

  • Closing of our offices in Kyiv and Lviv
  • Job guarantees for Ukrainian nationals drafted to perform military service whether working for DFDS in Ukraine or abroad
  • Discontinuation of all activities in Russia, including transport of any westbound Russian and Belarusian registered units. DFDS will of course continue aid transport to Ukraine

In addition, given the ongoing need for emergency assistance, we have been looking at what more we can do to support.

DFDS supports the Red Cross

Today, DFDS has made a donation of DKK 1 million to Red Cross, which will provide medical aid, crisis counselling, and support for hospitals and clinics as well as food, clothes, shelter, and emergency cash funds for those who have left everything behind.

On top of this, we have encouraged all employees to donate through a DFDS Red Cross fundraising, where DFDS will donate DKK 2 for each DKK donated by our employees.

Caring behaviour

DFDS employs colleagues of many nationalities, and everyone deserves to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, regardless of their origin. This is more important than ever.
