SCANDINAVIAN CHRISTMAS MARKETS

From the beginning of December, Scandinavians start preparing in anticipation of Christmas. During this month they decorate, cook and bake, purchase presents and enjoy family meals as well as listening to Christmas carols at the church. They also celebrate St Lucia, known as the Festival of light, on 13 December. Naturally, the Christmas spirit spreads across Scandinavia and shines through the Christmas markets of Copenhagen and Oslo.
