You can enjoy Duty Free shopping onboard our Channel ferries and Amsterdam-Newcastle route as well as in our Calais and Dunkerque port shops, but what does Duty Free mean? It refers to a shopping concept where goods are sold without the inclusion of local taxes and duties. This means that travellers can purchase products at lower prices than they would normally find in high street retail stores.

After Brexit, the duty-free allowance for travellers entering the UK has changed. When travelling back into the UK, the new allowance have increased the amount of goods you’re allowed to bring with you. The new wine Duty Free allowance is up to 18 litres, and beer is 42 litres. You can also bring up to £390 worth of non-alcoholic goods back into the UK and 200 cigarettes or 250g of tobacco. The Duty Free spirit allowance is now up to 4 litres of strong liquor. Ferry Duty Free prices vary depending on the location and type of product being sold. Generally, ferry Duty-Free shops offer a range of products including alcohol, tobacco, perfumes, cosmetics, and luxury items. Prices may be cheaper compared to traditional retail stores due to tax exemptions.

Our Dunkerque Duty Free Shop is open daily from 8:30 – 20:00 French time, and our Calais Duty Free Shop is open 09:30 – 22:00 CET (Mon-Sun), with the first floor café being open from 08:30 – 21:00 CET (Mon-Sun).

We also have onboard shops so you can shop Duty Free on ferry crossings on our Newhaven-Dieppe, Dover-Dunkirk/Calais and Newcastle-Amsterdam routes.

Visit our Duty Free Reserve and Collect site to shop your favourite products from the comfort of your home. They’ll be ready to collect from our Calais or Dunkerque Duty Free Shop when you pass through our port shops on your way back to the UK. Your items will be waiting for you on a trolley and can be amended before you pay. Reserve and collect currency is either Sterling or Euro Cash (we recommend that you pay sterling cash to guarantee the advertised sterling price). Please note that all cards are processed in Euros. Therefore, you may pay a little more or a little less depending on the euro to sterling conversion rate used by your card provider on the day.
