Prototyping with partners at the Net Zero Co-Lab

Net zero co lab April 2026

Decarbonising supply chains is one of the most complex challenges facing logistics today. It requires new infrastructure, technologies, and ways of working. Across companies, industries, and borders.

That is why we created the Net Zero Co-Lab. A cross-industry platform that’s designed to move from conversation to concrete action.

See the bigger picture

Bringing together customers, partners, and stakeholders from across industries – including FMCG, automotive, and industrial sectors – the Net Zero Co-Lab creates a space where shared challenges can be explored openly.

Participants quickly recognise that many of the barriers to decarbonisation are not unique. They are shared across supply chains. And this shifts the perspective from individual to collective problem-solving.

"You find yourself circling over the same problems that other companies are going through and the joint learnings that can be had." - Kirstie Jones Williams, Geminor

A structured path to action

To ensure that ideas translate into outcomes, the Co-Lab is built around a structured design process. Using the Double Diamond method, we move through four phases:

understanding the problem, defining key challenges, ideation, and tangible solutions.

This prevents the common trap of jumping straight to solutions without fully understanding the underlying issues. And it results in focused, practical outputs that can be tested and developed further.

"It's really great opportunity to go from thinking and talking about it to actually identifying some actions." - Karin Falck, Specialist Innovation Manager at Volvo Group

Turning ideas into real solutions

Several tangible outputs have already emerged from these sessions:

  • Emissions dashboards that help companies visualise and benchmark their transport emissions
  • Shared logistics opportunities, identified by mapping overlapping transport routes across companies
  • Electric truck charging infrastructure concepts, now being developed into real projects

Reducing risk through collaboration

One of the biggest barriers to decarbonisation is risk – financial, operational, and technological.

The Co-Lab helps to reduce this risk by enabling companies to test solutions together. Through shared pilots, data modelling, and collaborative planning, participants can explore new approaches without committing to large-scale investments upfront.

This approach also helps avoid costly missteps, ensuring that future investments are based on proven concepts rather than assumptions.

Building the future together

The transition to low-carbon logistics cannot be achieved by individual companies working alone. It requires collaboration across entire ecosystems.

The Net Zero Co-Lab reflects this reality. It brings together diverse perspectives, encourages open dialogue, and focuses on delivering practical outcomes.

Most importantly, it demonstrates that progress is possible when companies move beyond discussion and start working together on real solutions.

“The key value here is creating a community in which we gather people who like ourselves, have the green transition on the agenda.” Kasper Damgaard, DFDS
