Enjoy five hours in the Dutch capital, where you can stroll the cobbled streets, curve the winding canals and discover some of the world’s best museums. See the city through a canal cruise, rent a bike and cycle like a local or if you prefer a slower pace, stroll to some of the lovely cafes in the city and enjoy some Dutch pancakes. If you’re heading to Amsterdam in December, be sure to see the 60ft Christmas tree in Dam Square or see the city sparkle in the annual Light Festival which lasts until late January.
Heading to Amsterdam in the autumn/winter months offers plenty of delights for tourists. If you visit in December, you can visit one of the many Christmas markets and try some ice skating at Dam Square. Book ahead for February to enjoy Amsterdam Coffee Festival and in March, you can start to see the fresh spring flowers in bloom at the city’s famous floating flower market. Whatever time of year you decide to go, you’ll not be short of things to do.
