Amsterdam City Center - Terminal

Getting to the terminal in Amsterdam (Ijmuiden)

By bus

In co-operation with Brouwers, a local coach firm, we provide bus transfers between the terminal and Amsterdam City Center. On days of departure the buses depart for the terminal between 15.00 and 16.00.

Please note: Amsterdam bus transfers are included when booking a mini cruise.

De Ruijterkade 153 (behind Central Station) to IJmuiden Ferry Terminal 15:00 and 16:00 16:00 and 17:00

By car

When you are on the A9 coming from Amsterdam, Den Haag, Haarlem, or Alkmaar you take the turn to Ijmuiden. Then drive next to the channel and go right on the Pontplein so you still drive with the channel on your right. Drive under the viaduct and at the roundabout go right. Now you’re driving on the Halkade, follow this road until you arrive at the Felison Terminal.

By train

Trains are a less convenient mode of transport for getting to the terminal. The nearest train station to the port is Haarlem Central - you can then get a bus to IJmuiden. First, take bus 75 to Plein 1945 and then take bus 74 to the port.

Taxi service

As Ijmuiden is a small village there are not many taxis so it is best to order them in advance on 0031 (0) 251314422 or 0031 (0) 255 513838.

Please note: Taxi journeys are expensive in Holland - a taxi from the port into Amsterdam City center costs around €60 each way.

Amsterdam bus transfers

The terminal in Amsterdam is located in the suburb called Ijmuiden, located on the outskirts of Amsterdam.

Coaches operated by our partner Brouwers take you from our port in IJmuiden to Amsterdam city center, from as little as £7 per person each way.

These are organised to coincide with our ship arrival and departure times and take 30-40 minutes, depending on the city traffic.
