The DFDS bus transfer service is a convenient and environmentally friendly way of getting to and from the terminal in Newcastle.

Reach Newcastle city center from the terminal in a convenient way from as little as £4.10 per person, each way. The bus will depart the terminal shortly after the ferry arrives and will drop you off at Bewick Street (opposite Newcastle Central Station).
The bus is marked 'DFDS' and the travel time is typically 20-30 minutes.

When arriving to the terminal in North Shields by car, follow the signs to the secure car park (located on the right hand side as you drive down the road towards the terminal).
The entrance to the terminal is only a short walk from the car park.
Please note: The car park is operated by the Port of Tyne. The price for parking is £12 per day or part thereof. The first 4 hours are free of charge. Lost tickets will be charged at £15 per day.
Our buses in Newcastle are easily identified by the DFDS logo on their sides.
These are scheduled to coincide with our ship arrival and departure times, taking typically 20-30 minutes, depending on the city traffic.
Buses drop off and pick-up at Bewick Street opposite the Central Station. You should only take as much luggage as you can carry yourself.
