Edinburgh & Glasgow The perfect end to your tour is the capital of Scotland with the medieval old town and countless streets with excellent cafes and restaurants. On a city tour you will learn all about the dark history of Edinburgh and walk in the footsteps of Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter and dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Your Edinburgh hotel is beautifully situated by the river on the Holiday Inn Express Waterfront. Also Glasgow is worth a visit. Art lovers will be impressed by the Art Nouveau architecture in Glasgow, and most of the city's museums will not cost you entry, so take a look at one or the other.

Holy Island

Before you return to Newcastle on the ferry, you should plan a trip to Holy Island. A large part of the island is a bird sanctuary with a huge biodiversity. Up to 300 species of birds can be seen here, both native and migratory. On a steep hill is the ruins of Lindisfarne Castle. The former monastery was rebuilt in 1903 in a private house. Be sure to leave the island in time. The flood does not pay any attention to you and will not let you down from the island. Inform yourself early on the water levels.
