The curtain closes on 2024

Reflecting on 2024 in our advent calendar

Frontrunners, by their very nature, need to be forward looking. And, at DFDS, as we lead the transport and logistics industry towards a more sustainable future, our focus is on overcoming obstacles to electric trucks becoming a mainstream transport solution. However, as the curtain closes on 2024, it’s a good time to pause and look back on the huge progress achieved with our partners.

In episode four of our advent calendar, Niklas Andersson from DFDS surprises Roger Alm, President at Volvo Trucks, with a customised trailer and the two partners reflect on the path their partnership has forged.

From prototype to operations in eight countries

In episode one of the advent calendar, we heard from Kasper Damgaard on the ability of partnership to bring not just physical change to the transport industry – but cultural change too.

In episode two, Niklas Andersson announced the launch of our electric trucks in Finland, our eighth electric truck market. An achievement made possible with the bold ambition shared by Volvo Trucks and DFDS, two partners that dare to step into the unknown – the subject of episode three.

And now, we end the advent calendar series with episode 4 below. Niklas and Roger reflect on the fantastic progress made through their partnership – a path forged for others to follow.

We wish you Happy Holidays and an Electric New Year!

To all our friends, colleagues and partners we wish you happy holidays and thank you for your continued support. It is your talent and commitment that pushes us forward. And we look forward to moving onwards, together, in 2025.
