Competition prizes to celebrate DFDS 10th consecutive World Travel Awards win

To celebrate DFDS taking the World’s Best Ferry Operator title at the World Travel Awards for the 10th year in succession, we are launching a competition to reward everyday heroes of 2020.

In each of the areas of its UK ports of Dover, Newcastle and Newhaven, people are being asked to nominate someone who has gone above and beyond to help their communities during the pandemic.

Pete Akerman, DFDS Global Marketing Director, said: ‘Providing exceptional service every time is key to our 10 years of WTA wins. Throughout the pandemic, DFDS is proud to have continued lifeline services for essential travel, getting people home, as well as helping to keep the UK’s supermarket shelves stocked and shipping vital goods such as medicines into the country.’

In 250 words or less, let us know who you are nominating and why. Nominations should be sent to dover.pr@dfds.com with address and contact details to arrive no later than Sunday December 13. Judging will take place from Monday, December 14 with winners notified by Christmas Eve, Thursday December 24.

Winners will get the chance to find out for themselves why DFDS has maintained its WTA record of wins even in a year when it couldn’t run a full passenger service. Prizes will be £500 and a crossing to Europe with DFDS for travel during 2021.

Booking with DFDS means travellers can plan their trip with the reassurance of the company’s travel guarantee that means they are protected if their plans have to be put on hold due to pandemic-related restrictions.
