Eerste stop: charmant Edinburgh
Zodra je van boord rijdt begint je rondreis door Schotland. Je eerste halte is Edinburgh! Maak kennis met de hoofdstad van Schotland. Alles ademt hier historie. De charmante straatjes en steegjes, culturele bezienswaardigheden, musea en gezellige pubs maken deze stad uniek. Hier vertoef je prima voor een dag. Iets bijzonders meemaken? Doe dan een Ghost Tour in Edinburgh. Zo kom je op een griezelige manier veel te weten over de stad.
B&B: Ballater & Beauly
If you leave from Edinburgh towards your next stop at Ballatar you will drive through an amazing mountain landscape. You tour on roads with the Cairngorm Mountains in the background. In this region, Royal Deeside, there is a royal castle that can be visited when the family is not there. This region is also known for its many castles. One of the best known is Dunnotar Castle. A source of inspiration for Disney. Also visit the Braemer Highland Games Center if you are a fan of the traditional games and the Speyside if you like Whiskey.
When you have figured out Ballater and its surroundings, you move on to Quel beau lieu, or Beauly for short, which means "A Beautiful Place". The place was once named by Mary Queen of Scots in 1564. Nearby you will find one of Scotland's most impressive Glens, Glen Affric. Take beautiful walks through nature with a 100% chance of beautiful views. Other recommendations are a tour to Ullapool and a trip to Loch Maree. Here you have a beautiful view of the vast lake and don't forget the famous salmon steps.

One of the most recognizable pieces of Scotland can be found in Oban. The rugged West Coast is one of the most spectacular parts of the country. Along the way you will pass Loch Ness and you can also make trips in the Oban area. Including a trip to the islands of Mull & Iona. The Cruachan dam is also close by and nature is breathtaking around it. Harry Potter fans can even take a ride on the Jacobite steam train from Fort William.
We understand that you will not get enough of the West Coast but it is time for another beautiful piece of Scotland. You travel on to New Lanark. A wooded area in the South of Scotland. Take Luss along the way, this cute village lies in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs. From the hotel where you stay in New Lanark you can walk straight into nature to the waterfall or visit the UNESCO-proclaimed New Lanark World Heritage Site. Not seen enough? Then take a day trip to Arran.
