Leaving the terminal and heading to the Southbound tunnel

  1. After leaving the ferry terminal, take the 2nd exit at the two roundabouts ahead to stay on Coble Dene, passing the Royal Quays Outlet Centre on your left.
  2. After passing the Outlet Centre, take the second exit onto Howden Rd/A187.
  3. Keep going straight ahead at the next roundabout.
  4. At the following roundabout, take the 3rd exit. You will then pass the recycling centre on your left.
  5. Finally, take the 2nd exit onto the A193, followed by the first exit onto the slip road which leads you to the Southbound tunnel.

Heading to the terminal after travelling through the Northbound tunnel

  1. As you leave the Northbound tunnel, stay in the right lane. Once you emerge from the tunnel, move into the emerging 3rd lane and take the slip road off onto the A187.
  2. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the A187.
  3. At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit.
  4. Continue straight ahead at the following roundabout.
  5. Take the 3rd exit at the next roundabout onto Coble Dene.
  6. Keep going straight ahead at the next roundabout.
  7. Finally, take the 2nd exit into the Port of Tyne International Passenger Terminal and follow the signage.
