In order to get you and all vehicles safely and quickly on board, we need the exact details of your vehicle. To ensure a smooth check-in and boarding process, please include your vehicle type and registration number when booking.
The car check-in at the port of Amsterdam (IJmuiden) and Newcastle is very well signposted. First, drive to the check-in counter and keep your ID card / passport, if applicable, your visa and the booking confirmation ready. Passengers with vehicles must be checked in at least 60 minutes before departure, passengers without a vehicle must be checked in at least 45 minutes before departure. Afterwards we reserve the carriage.
Catering facilities and sanitary facilities are available in the terminal buildings.
Passengers can get off at the terminal or only when the vehicle is in the car deck. If you want to get off at the terminal, please remember to bring your luggage with you. For the foot passengers the way aboard is also signposted.
If you drive on the ferry, our staff will instruct you and ensure that you place your vehicle correctly on the car deck. Before leaving your vehicle, remember to stop the engine and apply the handbrake. Our local colleagues will gladly help you with any questions. Please note that all passengers of our ships must be accommodated in cabins and camping on the ship is not allowed on all routes.
All standard cars, including limousines, estate cars and SUVs, with or without a roof box or luggage rack. A maximum of 9 passengers may travel with this vehicle type.

Important information: Optional bookable: caravan or trailer (up to 4.0 m high and up to 10 m or 7 m long).
By definition, a caravan does not have its own drive and does not require gasoline, so a caravan must be used as a trailer on a motor vehicle to move it to the destination. The driver area and the living area are clearly separated in a caravan.

Important information: Booking or driving only possible in combination with a motor vehicle. For safety reasons, there is no more electricity for caravans on board. Gas bottles with a maximum weight of 47 kg are allowed per caravan trailer, of which at least one must be connected to a consumer device such as a refrigerator. The transport of gas cylinders must always be stated at check-in. The price of a trailer is calculated per meter. No cargo may be carried in the trailer.
In a motorhome, the driving and living areas merge directly into each other. Vehicle and living area can not be separated. A maximum of 9 passengers may travel with this vehicle type.

As a minibus applies with us a bus with 9 to a maximum of 15 passengers including the driver. The bus may not have more than 15 seats including driver's seat. For larger buses, please contact the Group Department.

A maximum of 2 passengers are allowed to travel with this type of vehicle. Scooters, monopeds and e-bikes (with an engine power of 500 watts and a maximum speed of 20 km / h apply, they are considered moped, former light moped, an insurance license is required) please book under this category.
Motorcycle with sidecar: maximum 4 passengers; 2 passengers on the motorcycle and 2 passengers in the sidecar are allowed to travel with this type of vehicle.
On-board straps are provided to attach the motorcycles. We recommend you to use your own clean straps if necessary. The attachment is made by the motorcyclists themselves. Our staff are on request to help and control the proper attachment. A liability for possible damages can not be accepted.
A maximum of one bicycle per passenger may be taken on the ferry. So-called pedelecs (which support the driver with an electric motor up to a maximum of 250 watts, while pedaling and only up to a speed of 25 km / h) can be booked as bicycles. E-bikes are considered a moped and must be booked as a motorcycle. For your own safety, also observe the rules of the StVO by bicycle.
Important information: Bicycles are to be kept safe on the vehicle deck and must not be taken into public areas.
