DFDS / primeRail expand their intermodal offering with new rail services from Sète to Cologne in partnership with Ekol Logistics
DFDS / primeRail is expanding its intermodal operations by creating a new rail line between Sète and Cologne in partnership with Ekol Logistics. The company will offer two round trips between Sète and Cologne and plans to add another weekly round trip.
Sète, 31 March 2022 - DFDS / primeRail is launching a new rail service between Sète and Cologne in partnership with Ekol Logistics, strengthening the company's intermodal operations. The company plans to operate three round trips. DFDS / primeRail will offer its customers an alternative route from Turkey to Cologne, as well as a new continental line for companies in Spain and France.
This route will depart from Sète, confirming DFDS' strategy to make this city an important trading centre. DFDS will also launch a new line from Sète to Calais, linking Turkey to the UK.
"The new rail service from DFDS' Mediterranean Business Unit will provide DFDS' customers in Turkey with an alternative solution for transport from Turkey to Cologne with the partnership of Ekol Logistics. We also plan to launch a new line from Sète to Calais and offer a new solution to connect Turkey to the UK," said Patrick Zilles, CEO of primeRail GmbH, about the new service.
