Additional departures on the Paldiski-Kapellskär route

DFDS increases the number of departures between Estonia and Sweden

Starting today, April 18, DFDS ships will offer travel and cargo transportation between Estonia and Sweden with 16 departures per week. The company operating on the Paldiski-Kapellskär route brings additional cargo departures to serve the cargo and passenger ship Patria Seaways.

“The volumes of freight and passenger traffic on the Paldiski-Kapellskär route have been constantly on a positive trend. Customers have been wanting more transport volumes and departures for a long time. We are glad that we were able to meet the expectations of our customers and increase the number of departures in both directions, ”said Peeter Ojasaar, the head of DFDS Estonia.

With the return of Patria Seaways to the shipping line between Estonia and Sweden, departures from both ports of destination will take place every day. An additional evening trip on Sundays to the Kapellskär route is also included in the schedule, and to Paldiski on Mondays when demand is highest.

“In recent years, in addition to cargo volumes, the number of passengers on our ships has also increased significantly. The sea line between Paldiski and Kapellskär is the easiest and most reliable way for them to get to Scandinavia. At the beginning of the summer travel season, we are pleased to offer them departures in both directions almost every night, ”said Peeter Ojasaar.

“We have tried different departure times over time. Evening trips, which allow you to spend the night at sea and arrive at your destination rested in the morning, have been arguably the most popular among both our business and private clients, ”added the head of DFDS Estonia.

DFDS is a European maritime transport and logistics company operating more than 20 routes. The company's ships carry more than 5 million passengers a year. In the Baltic Sea, DFDS has 9 vessels in 4 directions: Paldiski-Kapellskär, Klaipeda-Kiel, Karlshamn-Klaipeda, Copenhagen-Klaipeda. The Estonian branch of DFDS belongs to the DFDS Group.
