Renewed ships on Ijmuiden - Newcastle

Comfortable cruising with DFDS

I Jmuiden, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 - A new jacket for DFDS!

In the past months, the cruise ferry company has invested more than five million euros in renovations on the IJmuiden-Newcastle route. In order to continue to provide passengers with great service, the company is constantly innovating. For example, the public spaces of the passenger ships KING Seaways and PRINCESS Seaways will be refurbished and both ships will offer two new cabin types from March.

Renovated KING and PRINCESS Seaways

The public areas of the KING and PRINCESS Seaways have been thoroughly renovated. Among other things, there has been an enlargement of the reception and the shops where new decoration provides different appearance. In addition, the ships are equipped with new floors and a fresh layer of paint and the various restaurants have been modernized. The bars and clubs have also been renovated.

Upgrade cabins

In addition to renovating public areas, 10 Premium cabins with a sea view were given a makeover and a double bed. In addition, from March DFDS also offers 39 new inside cabins with a double bed. These replace the former double cabins with bunk beds on deck 8.

Cruising with your pets

In response to the increasing demand for the possibility of traveling with pets, from March DFDS also offers 6 pet cabins with an easy to clean floor. Pets were always welcome on board, although not in their own cabins. So would you like to travel with your pet? This is now possible thanks to the special DFDS cabins on the IJmuiden-Newcastle route!

Innovation comes first

DFDS closed the year 2016 with a 12% increase in passenger numbers: the best results since its inception 150 years ago. " We continue to invest in optimizing our routes in order to be able to offer excellent service and a relaxed crossing in the future," said Teun-Wim Leene, Passenger Director Netherlands and Germany
