From next week, passengers traveling from Klaipeda to DFDS ferries to Sweden and Germany will have the opportunity to take a coronavirus test before the trip and receive a response in less than an hour. DFDS offers this service to its passengers in cooperation with the laboratory "Synlab".

"Both Sweden and Germany require arriving passengers to have a negative coronavirus test of at least 48 hours. We aim to meet the needs of passengers and facilitate travel in pandemic conditions, therefore, for those who did not pass the test in advance, we offer the opportunity to take the paid test just before the trip, ”says Robertas Kogelis, DFDS Klaipėda Terminal Operations Manager.

For the convenience of passengers every evening from 5.30 pm. testing will take place at the Central Klaipeda Terminal, where the Synlab Testing Center will be located. The premises are located next to the DFDS customer service center, where check-in and travel take place, so it will be especially convenient for DFDS passengers who want to take the test.

Viktorija Lapė, Marketing and Sales Manager of the research laboratory SYNLAB, says that the price of such a traveler's research package will be 40 Eur: “The advantage of the offered service is the service provided to the customer on site, and the research answer and required certificate in three languages, Lithuanian, English and Russian. per hour. The passenger will be able to show it in Swedish or German ports. We plan to perform the tests from a nasopharynx or saliva sample ”. According to V. Robert Kogel reminds that passengers who want to take the test must register for it online in advance. The company also offers a pre-coronavirus test service to DFDS passengers in the Estonian port of Paldiski and in the British port of Newcastle.
